- information about the property or gutter problem that you provide;

Our lawful bases
Legitimate interests
We rely on legitimate interests when we receive, review, administer and respond to an enquiry that you have chosen to send to us.
Our legitimate interest is operating Wincanton Gutter Care as an enquiry service and responding to people who contact us for help finding an appropriate independent gutter specialist.
We also rely on legitimate interests where reasonably necessary to protect the website and enquiry system from misuse, spam or security threats.
We limit the information we request and do not automatically distribute enquiry details to tradespeople.
Consent before sharing your details
We rely on your consent before sharing identifying or contact information from your enquiry with a particular independent gutter specialist.
If we identify someone who may be suitable, we will tell you who they are before asking whether you agree to your information being passed to them.
You do not have to agree.
If you do not agree, we will not pass your identifying/contact information to that provider.
You can withdraw your consent at any time before the information is shared by contacting us.
Withdrawing consent does not make any processing that already took place while the consent was valid unlawful.
Legal obligations
In limited circumstances, we may need to use or retain information because the law requires us to do so.
Who we share information with
We do not automatically send your enquiry or contact details to a list of tradespeople.
Personal information may be shared with:
An independent gutter specialist
Only after we have identified a particular provider and you have agreed to the sharing.
We will explain who the provider is before asking for your agreement.
Once information has been passed to an independent provider with your permission, that provider is responsible for how they subsequently handle the personal information they receive.
Technology providers
We use third-party services needed to operate the website and handle communications.
These currently include:
- Cloudflare, which provides website hosting, delivery and security services;
- Google, which provides the email service used to receive and manage communications.
These providers may process limited personal or technical information when providing their services.
Legal and professional requirements
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with the law, respond to a lawful request, deal with a complaint or dispute, or obtain appropriate professional advice.
We do not use enquiry information for an unrelated marketing mailing list.
International processing
Some of the technology services we use operate internationally, so personal information may sometimes be processed outside the United Kingdom.
Where a restricted international transfer takes place, appropriate transfer arrangements must apply under UK data-protection law. Depending on the provider and destination, these may include UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
You can contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to your personal information.
How long we keep enquiry information
We normally keep enquiry information and related correspondence for up to:
12 months after the last contact relating to the enquiry.
This includes records of any permission given for information to be shared with a particular provider.
We may keep relevant information for longer where this is reasonably necessary because of a legal obligation, complaint, dispute or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or securely disposed of.
Website security and technical information
The website is hosted using Cloudflare services.
The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated or spam submissions. Cloudflare may process technical and security information needed to provide that protection.
Wincanton Gutter Care does not use Turnstile for advertising or behavioural profiling. The site does not currently use analytics or advertising trackers.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights including:
- the right to ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- the right to ask us to delete information in certain circumstances;
- the right to ask us to restrict how information is used in certain circumstances;
- the right to object to certain processing;
- the right to withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis;
- the right to data portability where that right applies.
Some rights depend on the lawful basis and circumstances of the processing.
